Game Story: Junior Blue Dukes 20, Mequon-Thiensville 0
The Junior Blue Dukes defense pressured Mequon-Thiensville into two interceptions Saturday as the Bay squad rolled to a 20-0 victory at Lubar Stadium.
After a scoreless first quarter, Bay got on the board with a Van Bassindale TD run. Then the Blue Dukes cranked up the pressure: Teddy Weber, Macklin Kortebein, Bassindale, Will Alt and Nick Higgins all tackled Mequon-Thiensville ball carriers behind the line of scrimmage.
A long interception return by Anthony Enea paved the way for a second Bassindale TD run. Jake Fisher passed to Bailey Weiland for the extra point.
After a sluggish third quarter marred by penalties, the Junior Blue Dukes closed out the scoring in the 4th quarter when Fisher intercepted a pass at the 40 and returned it 60 yards for a TD. For the extra point, the Blue Dukes faked a kick. Fisher passed to Zach Casey, who muscled his way into the end zone for the point.
Mequon-Thiensville drove for a possible consolation score at the end of the game, but tackles for loss by Charlie Cohen and Alec Lindfors gave the defense its second clean sheet of the season.

Football Sweatshirts
Junior Blue Dukes actionwear czarina Cindy Hoff reports:
"Football sweatshirts sample sizes will be at the concession stand saturday please stop by and try them on if you are worried about sizes.
Order forms will also be available."
I'm sending all 6th grade team families a related email on this.
(If you are new to the program this year, I can only say that my son was extremely proud of his football sweatshirt last year, and virtually lived in it for more than a month.)

Instructions for Concessions volunteers: 1st half volunteers, please get in place right as the previous game ends, so we can have an orderly transition. 2nd half volunteers, please report to the concessions stand as soon as the 1st half of our game ends.

Instructions for Chain Gang: Mr. Brew, just look for Messrs. Siebert and Heston. They know the drill on this.

Instructions for Booth crew: Please get to the booth area by the middle of the 4th quarter of the preceding game. Mr. Timekeeper (Dave Fergus), especially if you have not done this before, I think it would be especially important for you to see how someone runs the scoreboard and clock.
Any questions, please ask me soon. My competence declines as the weekend approaches.
A special thanks to Wes Bassindale, Van's older brother, who returns as our in-game music provider. Wes could be calling girls or reading Erasmus, but instead he spends his Saturday afternoon with us. Wes, I am getting some additional music together for you, and will drop it at your house Friday. (I'll likely just throw the files on a flash drive for you.)
