Volunteer assignments for Saturday's home game
Dear Parents & Friends:
As you know, the 6th grade Junior Blue Dukes team kicks off at noon Saturday at scenic Lubar Stadium in Whitefish Bay.
Here are the volunteer assignments for the game. The coaches, team and I thank each of you personally for contributing to the success of the program.
Concessions, 1st half:
Anne Keiper
Dudek family
Ann Wilson
Concessions, 2nd half:
Natalie Hatch
Bernstein family
Cohen family
Instructions for Concessions volunteers: 1st half volunteers, please get in place right as the previous game ends, so we can have an orderly transition. 2nd half volunteers, please report to the concessions stand as soon as the 1st half of our game ends.
Chain gang:
Scott Siebert
Phil Heston
Jamie Keiper
Instructions for Chain Gang: Mr. Keiper, just look for Messrs. Siebert and Heston. They know the drill on this.
P.A. Booth:
P.A. announcer: Charley Weber
Spotter/stats: Jackson Weber
Spotter: Kelly Daley
Timekeeper/Scoreboard: John Brewster
DJ: Wes Bassindale
Instructions for Booth crew: Please get to the booth area by the middle of the 4th quarter of the preceding game. Mr. Timekeeper (Brew Senior), especially if you have not done this before, I think it would be especially important for you to see how someone runs the scoreboard and clock.
Any questions, please ask me soon. My day job is squeezing my brain hard lately, so get me while some axons are still firing.

Game Story: Junior Blue Dukes 31, Saukville 12
The Saukville Rebels battled gamely, but the Junior Blue Dukes' one-two punch of speed and toughness helped them surge past their hosts in a satisfying 31-12 road victory Saturday afternoon.
Zach Casey started the scoring by ripping off a 50-yard TD run in the first quarter. Later in the quarter, after the Blue Dukes defensive line pressured the Saukville quarterback, Jake Fisher continued his thieving ways by intercepting a Saukville pass.
In the second quarter, Ryan Hummer threw a TD pass to Carter Heston, and Macklin Kortebein returned a Saukville punt for a touchdown, weaving his way through several would-be tacklers.
The Junior Blue Dukes also had a couple of potential touchdowns brought back due to their own penalties.
The halftime score was 18-0.
Neither team scored in the third quarter. Saukville opened the 4th quarter with a short touchdown run, cutting the margin to 18-6.
But Kortebein answered with a long TD run, and Hummer passed to Bailey Weiland for the extra point, resetting the score at 25-6.
Saukville broke off a long TD run to narrow the gap to 25-12.
The Junior Blue Dukes closed out the scoring when Scott Rojahn caught a Jake Fisher pass in the end zone, making it 31-12.
Coaches of both teams would probably agree that there too many penalties in this game, including face mask, illegal formation and illegal block penalties on the Junior Blue Dukes. After special teams beast Nick Higgins nailed a Saukville kick returner for no gain on one 4th quarter kickoff, a Saukville player actually tackled Higgins on the next Whitefish Bay kickoff. Out came the yellow flag. On the sideline, a Saukville coach could be heard telling his guy, you can't do that son.
The next Junior Blue Dukes game is at noon Oct. 3 at lovely Lubar Stadium in Whitefish Bay, against Grafton. Volunteer assignment reminders will go out early this coming week.

Saukville directions & protocol
White jerseys, blue dress pants for Saturday's road game at Saukville.
Kickoff is at 4 p.m. Coach Joe Wieland asks that all players be in place by 3 p.m. at Saukville.
Rider sharers are leaving Lydell parking lot at 2:15 p.m. Saturday.
Here are directions to West Riverside Park in Saukville, where the Saukville Rebels play:
1. Get on I-43 North.
2. Take I-43 north (about 18.6 miles from Lydell) to #96/SAUKVILLE/PORT WASHINGTON toward WI-33 W/SAUKVILLE
3. Turn LEFT on E GREEN BAY AVE
4. Continue on S MAIN ST(CR-O)
5. Arrive at 596 S MAIN ST, SAUKVILLE
These are a little bit approximate, I have to say, since there is not an exact street address for the park.
